Neelam Mehta, chief designer for Minotti Ahmedabad by Design Italiano, is the author of the architectural and interior designs for this home in Chennai that adroitly interprets traditional building concepts with contemporary flair.
Concrete walls, vast windows and marble floors are the common denominator in many of the rooms. Expansive windows that give onto the garden fill the living room with light, illuminating the compositions of the Freeman seating system, combined with Sullivan coffee tables in walnut and a Smith bench upholstered in a sophisticated tweed fabric in shades of orange, that were chosen to furnish the room.
